This class will cover moving and handling obese patients, diabetic emergencies, and overdoses.

Chief Bouvier is a Nationally Registered Paramedic, known nationally and internationally as a professional EMS speaker and retired Fire Chief and Deputy Chief of EMS, retired in March of 2019.

Chief Bouvier served as the EMS Commander of most New Orleans major events including Mardi Gras, 2002 & 2010 Super Bowls and was responsible for Commanding both New Orleans & Mutual Aid Ambulances post Hurricane Katrina. Chief Bouvier was responsible for managing the EMS crews and was featured on the A&E Television Show NIGHTWATCH. Chief Bouvier is the recipient of the 1989 NAEMT National EMT of the Year Award, the 2008 Rocco V. Morando Lifetime Achievement Award and 2019 Louisiana Bureau of EMS Lifetime Achievement Award. Chief Bouvier has an extensive educational background in both Fire and EMS and has made written contributions in 14 EMS textbooks.

He presently serves on the EMS World Editorial Advisory Board since 1998. Today, Chief Bouvier continues to serve both Fire & EMS as a professional speaker & educator with 46+ years of experience and currently serves as the Hazardous Materials Officer for the Westwego, Louisiana Volunteer Fire Department.

Travis Howze is an international touring speaker, author, and motivational wellness educator who spent 14 years in the military and emergency services as a U.S. Marine, Police Officer, and Firefighter.

From taking human life to being assigned to the body recovery team of 9 brother firefighters, which included one of his best friends, Travis was plagued with extreme Post Traumatic Stress dating back to early childhood.With little to no resources available during his recovery, he decided to become a resource by developing “Post Traumatic Purpose- an empowering, educational course and keynote presentation on Leadership, Mental Wellness, and Resiliency.”

Authentically raw and uncensored, Post Traumatic Purpose gives a realistic view of the mental health epidemic that plagues our first responders and their families. Travis’ transparent approach builds a relatability that not only connects with the individual responder but their families; including spouses who are always encouraged to attend in hopes of promoting career and family longevity.

His motivational message focuses on mental health; targeting in on signs and symptoms affected personnel may be displaying through various behavioral patterns and changes, ways of coping with trauma as it applies to the individual, the family and team.
